Reindeer Games: Results
(12-13-09) The Reindeer Games are
Wednesday, December 16th at
The purpose of the Reindeer Games is to help provide food for the needy over the holiday season. An “entry fee” of 1 can of food per athlete (or $2) will be collected. Spectators will also be “charged” one can of food for admission or $5. The food will be turned over to the Thermal Belt Outreach for distribution to the needy.
The meet will add a couple of relays
that are different from regular events and the 3200m run may
be dropped.
Qualifying times, heights, and distances will count for state qualifying;
however, some added events are not ones that are normally
contested at indoor meets.
Possible events are the 4 x 200, the
field event 4 x 100, and the shot put relay.
These relays will be run with large candy canes
rather than relay batons.

Final results are posted. We
struggled with our timing and scoring folks today. They missed the 4x8’s, 100/110
hurdles, and girl’s 100 – and then let us know there was a problem!!!!
Fortunately, the camera was always working, so the places are definitely
correct. We were miraculously able to recover the 4x8 times. The 100/110 and
100 results are listed as finals only because we don’t have prelim times.
Sorting through the problem cost the scoring and timing people valuable time
they would normally use to input Field Event results – so those ultimately ran
behind as well. We apologize for the inconvenience. We were not able to present
awards in all events – so I’ll take the remaining awards with me to the State
Meet and get them to the correct people.
In addition to the timing issues
– there were some VERY close results in Field Events and some incredible ties –
and even jump offs. So you’ll see lots of “J”’s next to those results –
indicating Judges Decision (sorting through tie breakers). We stayed for about
an hour after the Meet and went through each event and verified all photos. We
think everything is now correct. Thanks.
